I was told I have to have a UV light in pond to get rid of the green water?

Some ponds absolutely need a UV light to combat pea soup / green water algae. Ponds constructed consisting of the proper mechanical filtration, bio-filtration and recirculatory system will not need a UV light. We think of a UV light as a bandaid to a much larger problem.
